Re: Fuel tank corrosion
I have some stock tanks if you are interested. Long range can be an expensive adventure pM me if you are interested. Shipping might be a bit expensive compared to down south as I am in Alaska. If you are near where Alaska Airlines flies in General freight is not bad and I am a known shipper

Re: Mag Rite Engine Timer?
So if you have an I phone with a level app you can tape your phone to the prop blade tip and determine TDC on the number one cylinder. Several good ways to do this. Then zero your level and back it up past the degrees before TDC and then advance it to the appropriate number of degrees. Set the mags ...

Re: ADS B
Once again it is amazing how economics and common sense do not mix. I remember in the 70's when ELTs were mandated. The AOPA among other organizations were outraged about the cost and government intervention making aviation more costly. Nothing mentioned about safety. It was a long time ago when the...

Re: ADS B
I am getting ADS B as I am always using flight following and it is unbelievable the number of aircraft you don't see and they don't see you. We do have mid airs in Alaska more than should happen. When I give flight reviews I emphasize using flight following and it is unbelievable to me how timid peo...

Re: Engine upgrade
You can get a deviation to the STC for a different model. I have the O-360A1F6. Counter weighted crankshaft so I could put on a longer propeller and it runs smoother especially on start up and shut down. There is also an STC I got and Superior now has for a cold air induction for the IO 360 Lycoming...

Tungsten has its uses, however don't ever drop it in a hard to get to area. It cannot be retrieved with a magnet like steel ones can. Occasionally one does drop a bar

180 hp conversion nose bowl cracks
Just thought I would post the solution I came up with about 25 years ago for the cowling issues with Avcon conversions. I looked through my paperwork but did not find a 337 but do remember the FAA inspector agreed it was far better. I know I can get a 337 now and pass it on. I can also measure it an...

Re: Reason 127 why Franklin engine conversions are a bad ide
This is how you fix the cowling cracking issue. Get rid of the flexible hose and make this. I am not sure if I did a 337 or just showed it to the inspector and he agreed that it would keep the flow going airwise and stop the cowling from cracking. I have never had a crack since doing this about 600 ...

Re: Vinyl headliner with skylights installation update
Below is the reply I got from the shop in Illnois that installs headliners in 140's. A member gave me their information. I really really will figure this out. It cannot be impossible just difficult. I canprobably live with a few sags but not wrinkles. Oh wait maybe i can I just looked in the mirror ...

Vinyl headliner with skylights installation update
Well, based on the current number of views to my last post about vinyl headliner installation, 66, and the number of comments, 0, I have taken a new tack. Calls to upholstry shops and people who have done headliner installations resulted in no one knowing a good way to get a headliner in with skylig...
