Select upload attachment as at the bottom like you would on a computer.
Select choose file and you will see this:
Choose the image from your device or a close drive such as Google Drive by selecting more.
Place the image in your text as you would on a computer.
This post including screen shot of my iPhone showing the forum was done on my iPhone. A little tedious given the size of the device, but possible.
