United Carr Fastners

Post by lowNslow »

Does anyone have a new part number or source for the fastners used on the instrument panel covers (on later Bs) as well as the rear cargo bulkhead cover and other places for trim pieces. In the parts manual these are listed as 49265-F-938 and I believe this was changed to S-1898-2. I've tried searches for both part numbers with no luck.

John, you were about 30 seconds ahead of me with that link! :?

I bought mine at iwantcessnaparts.com (well over 3 years ago), but the part number no longer gets a hit at that site. Karl, how many do you need? I'll check my stock on the way home and see how many I can spare.

Thanks John, I did see that thread but it only mentions the part numbers I listed above which no longer seem available at Cessna dealers, at least by either of those part numbers.

If the fasteners you are looking for are the ones that have a button head and a wire spring with a pointed shape that push thru holes in the false panel, Del Lehmann at Mountain Airframe Services 479-437-3333 has some.

The originals had a spring formed from a flat strip. The current issue S1898-2 has the wire spring to which Richard refers. Pardon the crappy picture, but it should be good enough to get the idea. That's a nickel it's sitting on.

Karl, I can have three on their way (no charge  ) as soon as you say so.
