Fueling step/handles SK172-168J

Post by minton »

Here I go again!

I was reviewing the Cessna service kits (SK's) offered up and landed upon the Fueling step/Handle one. SK172-168J/SK172-157/SEB05-02

Just a OBTW: I've been in the business for a while and seen all manor of steps and handles installed.

These SK's offer up "official-approved/acceptable" data for C-172's and could be used for C-170 references.

My point is all of the requirements for backing plates, (AKA, doublers) and specific locations on steps and handles. I don't think I have ever seen an installation on C-170 with all of these items installed. Probably overkill but if one was to need "approved/acceptable data" and was to install one or to document one you run across I'd be paying close attention to print details these days.

If they do not contain those specific components or the location differs you might need to attack it from a different angle other than referencing those SK's and consult you A&P or A/I. :D
