AeroLED SunSpot 36LX Landing Lights

Post by benny »

Hi All,

I managed to make it into Santa's nice list this year and received two AeroLED SunSpot 36LX series LEDs for my '52 model B. I've looked through the installation instructions and it seems pretty straightforward to install these. To me, installation is basically the same as replacing a burned out bulb. Do I have to have a mechanic sign off on the install of these LEDs? I'm not clear if they are PMA or STC'd for the Cessna 170B. If a mechanic sign off is not required, do I need to make a logbook entry? If so, what should it say? I haven't made an entry in the logbooks before so I'm not sure what sort of documentation is required.

Thanks
Ben

You are allowed to replace light/lamps and you are required to “log” all preventive maintenance you perform. See FAR 43 Appdx A.

An originality nut (mostly) for the right reasons. ;)
