Ideal Temps?

Post by reecewallace »

Hi all,

What are the ideal temps for the following?

- EGT?
- CHT?
- Oil temp?

Mine are running the following temps once I've properly leaned:

EGT - 1380
CHT - 340
Oil - 200

These are my standard temps once I've leaned on the richer end. My oil temp seems high.

*Note - my oil pressure gauge has always shown high, and this is normal for my engines operation

Mine runs about 1450 EGT/ 350 CHT on the warmest cylinder (#2). That’s on an O-300A at 24.5 - 25 in. Hg manifold pressure and 2600 rpm, leaned for cruise.

Reece, your indications look very normal. Your oil press is actually allowed to go up to 50-55 without issue and your 45 is excellent. (The best judgment is when oil is hot and engine is at idle ... if the oil press is still above 5 it’s acceptable but if it’s above 20 that’s great!
