Sorry, I didn’t realize you were in Canada but the basics still apply. Maybe a Canadian member might have some advice. In any case you need to verify how this works in your country. You are on the right track.

Our MX Library has a 337 in which is issued “Field Approval” for the 8:50 X 6 Tires on a Cessna 170. Although the exact wheel was not specified…it clearly is a Cleveland wheel assy because the parts necessary to provide brake-disc clearance are Cleveland PNs.

This might encourage your A&P/IA to seek identical approval from your FSDO…or at least feel better about recording the work.

Well, I took the FA Dodge letter and other documents to my mechanic, but field approvals and mechanics signing off on alterations is not a thing in Canada. It has to be approved by Transport Canada from the top down.

I'll follow up with TC and see what my options are. Thanks for all the help.
