170B D windows.

Post by Richgj3 »

What year(s) did the 170B have the D shaped rear windows? 56 only or 55 also? I’m talking model year, not year of manufacture.

Rich.

Thanks Bruce. As you were typing that I found an old post about something else that referenced the first appearance of the D windows for the 1955 Model year….but built in 1954.

I’m curious why the later windows are being referred to as “D” windows….??….when it was the EARLIER (SN 26504 and previous) airplanes that had D-shaped windows…and it was the later SN 26505 and on airplanes that had the Trapezoid windows (kept thru the 172 series). :?:
