Slave or Master Cylinder?

Post by n2582d »

I assumed Tony was looking for the slave cylinder rather than the master cylinder. I'm also assuming he has Cleveland rather than Goodyear brakes. Finally, I'm also assuming he has 600X6 Cleveland wheels. So, if Tony is looking for a Cleveland slave brake cylinder, the caliper assembly p/n is 30-63A and the individual cylinder housing on it is p/n 091-0220. What's puzzling is that this housing is around $800 at Univair and Aircraft Spruce but a very similar looking housing (pictured below), p/n 061-02100, is less than $400.
p/n 061-02100
p/n 061-02100
Similarly, cylinder housing p/n 091-11900, which also looks about the same as p/n 091-0220, is $1457. Does Cleveland look at the price of the aircraft which the brake cylinder is going on to decide how much to gouge the buyer for the part?

Tony, if you compare the price of the entire brake assembly, p/n 30-63A, to the price of the individual brake cylinder housing, p/n 091-0220, you'll find it's cheaper to buy the entire assembly than the individual housing.

Garys’ post points out how very Little information has been provided…. The wide range of parts possible with the equally wide range of possible modifications already undertaken….makes it impossible to really provide any real help without many details.
