Rudder pedal covers

52 170B. Are the sheet metal aluminum covers that go over the rudder pedals available anywhere? A quick Google search turned up nothing

Thanks
Rich.

Do you mean the sheet metal cover below the pedals that covers the torque tubes? Pretty easy to make if you had one for a pattern.
probably different left to right though.

That’s the one. Agree it should be easy to make. Easier to buy. :-). Mechanic damaged left one during the annual.

Thanks.

I have templates for two piece ones, cuz the one piece is a PITA to remove. I just don't know how to use CAD to make it into something I can send out to get made. Based on the 2 piece ones for the 180 that Bushliner makes.

Are your templates something a sheet metal guy could work from to make a one off piece?

They aren't that good of templates. I just made them to get distances and radii for CAD, then was gonna ship that to sendCUTsend and get some made, make tweeks as needed and be good to go. Shelved it because I have zero clue how to use CAD and even after a simple program and some youtube videos it ended with me in tears.

If you can post or send me a drawing with dimensions, I'd be happy to turn it into a cad file and post it here in *.dxf format or whatever you want.

that's great! when i get back from work I'll make it look nicer and get it to you, I had chicken scratches for lengths and radii on there and really need to do it looking over your shoulder. i'll make it nicer, once i have a file from you i'll send it for cut and try it out, then tweek as appropriate and lock it in. it'll be in two parts so much easier to remove and install than the one piece ones.

be in touch shortly.

Whole project has been on the back burner, I'm losing my hangar and trying to find a new spot. I just need someone who knows CAD where I can stand over their shoulder with my drawings and get a prototype made up. I'm working on it.
