Landing gear assembly

Post by flyer170 »

Last year during annual time we found that a bolt (an-4)was missing from the wedge - landing gear support on one of the landing gear. 8O
We replaced it at that time. This spring during annual time we lifted each side via jacking up the wing and checked all the gear and wedge bolts. We then shook the gear vigorusly (sp). Of the four wedge bolts two were loose. We tapped in the wedges to make sure they were secure and replace two of the nuts.
I have flown this aircraft on skis and on my aircraft the upper part of the ski attachment is fastened to the wedge bolts. I don't know what caused these bolts to loosen up but part of my annuals is going to be lifting the wings and checking the landing gear. Bob Dentice has a system for doing this on his web site.
Thought you should know this.
