Surprise at end...

Pix of Shuttle prior to take off the vertical stabilizer has the number "170 " painted on it.
How did that happen? Who told them that "taildragger" pilots would be there to help; Arrive With the numbers, At the numbers, Centerline - professional .

Very hard to relocate the number
