The tower in Hillsboro, Oregon (home base) started referring to me as Skywagon when telling other people my position so I just took the compliment and now I'm Skywagon 4286V.

You are really a Businessliner, along with the C-195.

Skywagon didn’t happen until the C-180.

I would like to see where all the luggage goes that the guy in the photo has with him. There is no cargo door so everything would have to go over the back seat. Yes, very comfortable for those 6 foot persons. Hmmm.

I know for a fact the 170 will carry the same volume of cargo as a 1983 Subaru station wagon. I used to have one and was amazed when I unloaded the 170, it filled the Subaru.

Perhaps the Family Car of the Air applied to the '48 model or maybe up through the '50 model and became the Businessliner with the B model? Have to check on a couple of old framed ads in my hangar to see what they show.

This post shows Cessna's pivot for the 170 from a recreational plane to a corporate aircraft.
