You don’t see this very often in a 170

Flying from Fredericksburg, TX to the DFW area yesterday, I had a consistent 40-45mph tailwind at 7000’. It was glass-smooth and although I was in the clouds and some rain most of the way, it was into improving conditions so life was good.

I pushed the nose over a little in the descent to get the groundspeed I wanted for the picture but it was 150mph or over for most of the flight. Some days are better than others. :D

We had a similar day a few weeks ago. Cruising at 7500 and smooth air on our way to KPGD (Punta Gorda,FL). I love days like this. We did pay for it later in the week, on our way home from KEYW (Key West, FL) we were at 2000 ft and cruising in bumpy air at 105 kts. Overall an awesome trip, and we really enjoyed the 10 days of warm temps and sunshine. While away we avoided two significant snow events at home.

Any flight in a 170 with a 3-digit ground speed is a good one!
