Just wondering what you guys think of the teaser released on the new high wing Vans aircraft. Pictures remind me of a 140 or 170. can't wait to see more. Bill K

Like to see it up close and hear what the numbers are. Thought it might put a dent in the 170 values or will it improve them. I also wonder what the kit will sell for and how much money must be sunk into it to get it in the air.

Hmmmnn….

Did the WagaBond or Carbon Cub put a dent or improve the values of the original Cubs?

What did the re-introduction of the “new” 172 do to the sales prices of the existing pre-86 172s..?

I wanted a pretty, sculptured-tail airplane that could carry two easy and four in a pinch. I don’t need ultra-short-field performance. My 206 and Baron ownership taught me I can only afford low operating and mx costs. So, I bought a 170 instead of a 195.

Flat sided airplanes are ugly and I don’t need another project.

I don’t think it will help …or hurt 170 values.

I hope they do well with it, however. Vans is a great outfit. (As home-builts they won’t have much commercial application…. but If they’d go into production with it they’d probably sell a ton of ‘em.)

Not just money. Time. Almost everyone I know who has started a Vans project is still working on it years later.

I expect a that Van's will continue to do what Van' does best.

High quality, easy to build kits with prepunched and preformed parts, excellent factory support, excellent performance, comfort and handling, slabby sides and a hershey bar wing. This will perform well and it will sell well. It would not surprise me if there is an RV-15A in the works, like the NX Cub.

Nuthin' wrong with that.
