Vermont SOS

Postby David Brody » Thu Nov 17, 2022 6:01 pm

Hello all: I'm thinking of purchasing a 170B, but I've never seen one live. I'm wondering if there might be anyone in the general area of northern Vermont who might be able to let me see their plane and just try the cockpit on for size. Bonus points for demo flight but not required!

Thanks, David Brody

Steve Grimsley lives in Burlington, and bases his 170B somewhere east of there. I hesitate to put his contact information on a public forum, but he can probably be reached through EAA Chapter 613 in Swanton. If you go ahead and join the Association, you’ll have access to the directory and could reach him that way.

Same cockpit as 172s. If you fit in one of those you’ll fit in this.

Just not look as cool. 8)

David, if you use the Private Message of this forum and send me your contact info, I’ll pass it along to our Historian Steve Grimsley who lives near Burlington and keeps his 170B nearby. He’s always very helpful with new folks.

Mr. Brody,

This is Steve Grimsley in Burlington, Vermont. You could have seen quite a few 170's here in Vermont during the International 170 Convention held here in Burlington and Franklin County airport this past June. I have my 170 at Morrisville airport KMVL and can show it to you and even fly if the day is nice. My email is sgrimsley2717@aol.com. You can contact me when convenient. Steve
