New to me 170!

Post by Brianpilotnomad »

Hey All!
I have been stalking your forum and following your passion of 170s since my TW endorsement was inked by Stephanie in her Lyc B model 3yrs ago. You definitely have seen her plane 62D (@tail.dragger). Her and 'lil delta straight hooked me ...line and sinker. I think I was her first tw student.
After a relentless year of searching, I finally bought one of my own last week and haven't even picked it up yet. Paperwork is off to the feds. I am so stoked!! I will share much more info about it after I dig in. For now, I am using the CFI thread here to get tw current and comfortable (work on 'proficient' in time). It is getting some mx done soon to get it in annual. I will be picking it up in southern KY and bringing it to NorCal.

The basics for now.

Plane..."53 B almost all stock 2400tt, 550 on the O300 with an old OH (engine runs up well, looks and sounds good with mid 70s comp) As it gets into mx and the onion peels back we'll know more. scary and exciting. I have inspected it in person and used all of your criteria here to inspect all the high points before the $ swapped. So Thank You, lots and lots of great info here. It has taken me years to get my Dakota where I am happy with it, cant wait to dig in on the 170.

Me ...50yr old aviation nut. Learning to fly since 2001. Most notable and fun plane, 400hrs DHC-2 on floats. My wife loves to plane camp...yep take that!

Sorry pics will come later  , too small meet your 2000x2000 criteria. I will likely post a couple on the Cessna170 FB site since Ive been stalking some of you there too.

Congratulations and welcome to 170 ownership Brian! To really get the most out of association membership I would encourage you to attend an annual convention and meet folks face to face.
