I would appreciate info on options for additional fuel capacity for my C170. I was out bid on Ebay for the Javelin tanks today. They seem a nice option especially for a "converted" (180HP) C170. In addition to the extra gas, they would help with the CG too. My question is....Are there other options that I am overlooking? I've heard about the "Flints" but wonder about the expense and work. Anyone have experience with other options?
Also, I would still be interested in a Javelin tank if I can find one at a reasonable price. Help anyone?

If you have a ragwing,you can install an extra (fourth) tank in the LH wing for a total of 50 gallons--of which 46 is allegedly usable.

The 170 was a further development of the 140, which had one tank in each wing. In order to accomodate the increased fuel burn of the C145 engine an additional C-140 tank was added to the right wing in the ragwing 170's.n3833v wrote:Why was only one tank installed in left wing from factory? Tip Tanks
Saw these in Trade-a-Plane. Pretty pricey at nearly $4000, but does give you another 2-3 hours of cruise depending on engine.
