Great story Arash!

Sounds like it would be a great topic of its own, "What is the story of how you got your 170?" or something like that.

Hey George or Bruce, what do you think of starting a new thread like that and moving Arash's story as the first post?

In the very early days I flew a piper cub with a massive 65hp engine , it took off at 65 kts ,landed at 65kts ,stalled at 45 kts ,
And was fitted with HEEL brakes and fuel tank in front of the pilot with a fuel quality stick that used to leak fuel all over the windscreen . With 2 big persons in the aircraft [100 kgs each ] and full fuel it climbed with the curvature of the earth. It’s the only tail dragger that I have ground looped and that wasn’t done successfully. I hated that aircraft . It was worse that having a mother in law looking after your bank balance .
The next aircraft I ever flew was a Cessna 180 . OMG what a rocket ship , it had a heater , the windows didn’t leak water or fuel/oil/exhaust . The seats were so comfortable. So much room. And all those instruments too. Wow, it’s the cats whiskers Then came the Pilatas Porter, that was a BIG step. turbine grunt .
I was in heaven.
After 30 years and flying all sorts of aircraft [rotary and fixed wing]along came the 170A . It’s light , nimble was,a little under powered [fixed with 180 hp engine ] takes 4 has a “reasonable range “ more would be good but lands any where , and a lot of fun .
NOW in the Australian aviation trader [vol 31 ,issue 3 , page 36.]. paper some one wants to sell a Cessna 170b for $120, 000 . Totally polished and standard. OMG is what the market has stepped up to ? I do not know the aircraft at all so NO endorsement from me /

Oh, yeah? Have you tried owning a BOAT? How much did THAT appreciate?
You forgot RV's by high sell at a big loss, at least 170's seem to hold their value, or even go in in value. But who care, I bought mine to enjoy flight not count $ in some account,

The truth is all the nice airplanes get sold by word of mouth and no one even knows they are for sale or what they sold for, the ones on TAP or barnstormers who knows , I found mine by accident and bought it on sight, it was that nice and no one knew about it.
