It’s about time to post a couple of shots of the fine 170B I purchased at the end of August. Of course one of these shots will go on the Christmas card this year....

My recently purchased '51 A model. I'm a freshly minted pilot who did all of my learning in a piper nose dragger...Doing my best to make the transition. What a wealth of information there is to be found here at the association, truly a great gathering of people.

I liked this shot taken while departing a friends strip last night. Says a lot - a nice night, a friendly departure wave, ‘ol glory proudly displayed. It just made me feel good inside and very blessed.

My daughter polishing up our newest family member. 170A, 1745D. She’s got some history with some association members and I’ve already gotten to speak with one who now flys at my airline. Looking forward to some great times and digging up some history. There’s mention in the logs of law enforcement patrol flights which seem very interesting!

“Hey kiddo you like our new family plane?”
“Daddy, when we are done another family is going to use it”
“No Boogs, this one is ours. It lives here waiting just for us to come fly her!”
“Whaaaaaaaaaaa?!?!!”

Great Photo! (We'll see who's right later-on. I believe we're like owners of fine art. We are only care-takers of these sweet airplanes.... and if you continue to take care of it as well as it appears you're doing.... I'll bet she's the one who's right.)

Here in Michigan this time of year you take advantage of the nice flying days when you can. The Brighton Air Force staged a lunch raid on Jackson County Airport, mustering a Stinson 108, our 170B, a 182, and a Glasair IIRG. The Stinson left early and surprised the enemy by routing via Pontiac. Then, due to some expert departure timing and no small amount of serendipity, the 170, 182, and Glasair arrived (in that order) in quick succession. A good time was had by all.
