Re: New Years Eve Fun
Pretty neat Josh, are those deer trained to look for airplanes before crossing the runway?

Actually, they are trained to mark the landing spot! The runway slopes up right to where they are then levels out, so I aim for them when landing! It's the Canada Geese that think they have the right-of-way...had to apply full power on my last approach to avoid a flock.johneeb wrote:Pretty neat Josh, are those deer trained to look for airplanes before crossing the runway?

Re: New Years Eve Fun
Happy New Year! Nice video!
I know what you mean about the deer. I flew into a ranch strip north of Fredericksburg yesterday and there was an axis deer on the runway that would just run around in circles when I buzzed it and by the time I came back around it was still there. I gave up after 3 passes and just landed. The deer moved off the side of the runway then went right back after I passed it.
