New STC avaialble for 80" props on 180hp 170/172/175

Just off the phone with Dave Stoots in Fairbanks. After the nightmare I went through getting the 80" approved a few years ago about the time Hartzel decided to buy up the STC - Dave tells me he has obtained an STC for the 80" and dampner - so those of us without unlimited bucks can join the long-prop crowd without being Hartzel-d. Call Dave at 907-474-4039 or email stoots@gci.net . :D

I talked to Dave last week, and the way I understand it he is selling the Hartzell STC. He is able to get it at wholesale and pass on some of the savings. He will also work with you on parts of the whole works. Also saw on the Barnstormers website another outfit selling the stc prop etc. did not talk to them, but their price was about a thousand bucks under Hartzell also.

Just talked to Dave Stoots and I misunderstood him the first time. He has his own STC for the long prop ( 80" ). He just gets the props from Hartzell. He also says he has a STC for the IO-360 Lycoming 200hp with internal balance weights, for the c-170, 172, and 175. So there is another option for when your O-300 gives up or you scare yourself enough clearing terrain, trees etc.
