It’s time to return to Peach State (GA2) on Saturday, October 17th and enjoy the great food at the Barnstormers Grill, in Williamson, GA.
Plan to gather under the covered patio at 11:00 A.M. and watch others land on the sod runway. The Grill Staff are looking forward to our arrival and we can eat on the patio or inside at 11:30 A.M.
GA2 is located 27 NM south of KATL. Airport information is available at http://WWW.airnav.com/airport/GA2. Park on the SE end of the turf strip in front of the grill and museum. See http://WWW.barnstormersgrill.com for menu items.
Looking forward to seeing old friends and new faces. Call Jim Wildharber or text 512-635-1168 with RSVP so I can alert the grill staff on potential number of lunch customers.

I called the Barnstormers Grill and they are looking forward to our arrival. Masks are not required in the dinning area and tables are set up for groups of 4 to 8 people. Latest weather report is for clear skies and afternoon temperatures in high 60’s.
PS: Self Service Avgas is $2.99/gallon

We had a successful gathering at Peach State Aerodrome. Weather was CAVU with temperatures ranging from high 60's to mid-70's. Eight people, in four planes, attended: Larry and Shelley Hayes ('55 170B) from Clanton, AL, J.D. Smith and son Rhett ('50 170A) from Helena, AL, Todd Thaxton ('55 170B) and friend from Williamson, GA, and Jim and Lolly Wildharber ('55 170B) from Kennesaw, GA.
The Barnstormers Grill was not crowded, and food and service were excellent. We spent a lot of time at the grass parking ramp looking over each others planes and talking shop. The big surprise though was the local EAA were holding an event at the field also. Lots of the planes from the local area were present: Cubs, STOL taildraggers, various models of RV's, Stinsons, various mix of Bonanzas and Cessnas, plus a beautiful polished/blue striped DC-3. When Lolly and I entered the landing patter area two different groups of RV's were to the south practicing formation flying. Adjacent to the Grill, a maintenance and instruction hangar used to introduce the younger generation to aviation was open with display items. Chairs and tables were setup for activities later in the day.
All in All, it was a great day!
