I’m in the final throes of a pretty major hip bone-leg bone ordeal with 56D and I want to make sure I’m doing the right thing as I’m crossing the finish line.
I recall someone saying that replacing the grommets on the piano keys was a major pain, but I decided I wanted to do it anyway, as well as adding a sixth switch in the spare slot that I couldn’t for the life of me understand why it wasn’t added when the Schroer’s beacon STC was added in 1984.
60 hours of trauma and some colorful language later, I’m completing a total re-wire of the airplane. It began with wanting to replace dry-rotted grommets after I was feeling good about my Whelen Parmetheus Plus/landing light refresh. After I realized I’d have to destroy the fuse holders to get the piano keys out to clean them up, the rabbit hole got deep pretty quickly. The assembly was absolutely disgusting and there were some lurking oddities behind the panel, to include a few components that weren’t fused as well as some exposed hot wire crimps on the back of the panel.
The last piece of the puzzle is the Klixon CA-2. I did what I thought was a good job of marking wires, but I’m second guessing myself with this circuit breaker. I’m re-using the one in the airplane until the NOS ones I bought arrive, however there appears to be a lack of markings on the unit, so I want to ensure I’m doing the right thing. As far as I can tell, the T&B and stall warning horn are the only components protected by this thing, so they should be on one side, and ostensibly a jumper to the buss bar on the other, but I’m not seeing any line/load demarcations. Am I correct in assuming that the circuit is protected either way assuming that the components are on one terminal and the buss bar adapter is to the other?
Google has been less than fruitful and I can’t find any technical drawings for this thing anywhere, though I’ve not contacted Klixon directly.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Being a thermal, I would think it won’t care which screw the load was attached to and seeing that its auto resetting you could do a bench ops function check on it to see if it really works.
