Couple of fuel questions, I'm still trying to get my '48 170 flying.
The gas cap chains were very rusty, I'd like to replace, does anyone have a source? The part number came up with nothing and the description of Acco American Pattern was too vague.
My wing sumps are leaking I'd like to replace the o-ring/seals. I tried loosening with an open end wrench with no luck (did not want to strip). I know they make a tool , my question is, what is the size I would need? I'm away from my plane but, my memory has me believe it was 9/16"
Thanks
Gas cap chain source? Wing sump sizing?

Re: Gas cap chain source? Wing sump sizing?
Some ideas:
I don’t know about the ‘48 gas caps, but the caps on my A-model have sash chain type of chain holding them on with safety pin style connectors.

Monarch caps use the small ball chain like used on key chains. They fall apart easily and I would not use them on gas caps.
