TX 04 October 2025 Ranger F23
For our October 2025 fly-in, let's meet at Ranger Airport ( https://www.airnav.com/airport/F23 ) by 1130 on Saturday, October 4 at the Ranger College Cafeteria (it is open to students, the public, and groups). Cafeteria opens at 1200 noon.
To gain entrance to the dining hall, we have to exit the ramp through an unlocked gate at the side of the softball field. It is a short walk to the cafeteria.
Next to the hangar are toilets. A code ( 1267 ) is needed to open the door.

Re: TX Fly-In 04 October 2025 Ranger F23
Saturday in N Texas dawned bright, clear and warm. Three C170s landed on Ranger's grass strip bringing 5 of us for what turned out to be Brunch at the Ranger College cafeteria (only open from 12 to 1 on Saturdays). It was a short walk to their new facility and we had a great time visiting and catching up with each other. Upon returning to the parking area, 4 of our number walked across to a large hangar where we'd been invited to view a collection of vintage airplanes. The flight home was predictably bumpy, but routine and uneventful. Here are some pictures from this month's adventure.

Thanks, Stan, for Posting* this FlyIn… Sorry I couldn’t make it, as Ranger airport holds a warm spot in my heart from my early ‘70’s pipeline-patrol days which routing passed adjacent. Ranger was my alternate landing spot in the event of necessity.
The railroad car repair facility immediately west of the airport was also run out of Houston by my mother-in-law’s employer, so it always was a welcome sight on a long and boring flight-routine.
Kudo’s to Karl for making the FlyIn having only Just returned from convention in AZ.
* (typographical correction.

I did not host the fly-in.
We enjoyed the airport though and I will definitely go to any future fly-ins there!
