TX 12 July 2025 Tyler KTYR

For our July fly-in, let's meet at Tyler Pounds Airport (https://www.airnav.com/airport/KTYR) on Saturday, July 12th, and have lunch at Sky's The Limit Diner (https://jetcenteroftyler.com/index.php/area-info/diner/).

To gain entrance to the diner, we have to exit the ramp through a locked gate. If someone is not at or near the gate to let you in after you finish securing your airplane, please call the diner at 903-707-2900.

Next to the diner in the same building is the Historic Aviation Museum (https://tylerhamm.org/). It is a very good museum, and you may be interested in visiting it after lunch. They can also let you through the gate. If the phone call to the diner fails, call the museum at 903-526-1945.

If you have questions, please contact Ken Peck at c170ken@gmail.com or 512-468-7790.

Saturday, 7/12/2025, 6 of our members met up at the Sky's the Limit Diner, located in the old terminal at the base of the tower at Tyler Texas (TYR). Although TYR had started out the day with IFR weather, it had improved enough by 10am to allow half of our group to arrive in two C170s. After visiting in the terminal, under an extensive collection of hanging scale model antique aircraft, we moved into the diner and enjoyed very courteous service and a fantastic lunch. The Ruben sandwich comes highly recommended; at least four of us had it. On the way home, there were some scattered rain showers; easily spotted and detoured around. Another great get together - we're sure sorry if you had to miss it.
