So Long ... But Not Goodbye!

Post by brian.olson »

TIC170 Family -

First off - I want to thank everyone for the accumulated knowledge, guidance and encouragement which each of you have freely shared with me over the past 8+ years. This is such a close-knit, supportive group and it has helped me transition from first-time aircraft owner to active caretaker of a 70+ year old beauty. We flew nearly 700 hours together, 62C and I.

A month ago, I handed 62C's keys over to her next caretaker - Zach - after a short flight north from Atlanta to southern Tennessee. Zach, his wife Wendy, and I have become good friends during the time that I have owned 62C. His grandfather was 62C's owner for over 20 years and it's been a goal of his to eventually get her back in the family again. I won't steal Zach's story: he is planning to join the Association shortly and I'm sure he - in his own words - will tell you everything.

My wife and I recently completed building a Sling TSi, passed inspection, and are nearly done with Phase 1 flight testing. The skills we needed to build this aircraft were the skills that you helped me develop - and I am indebted to each and every one of you. It's been a fun process and my wife and I are looking forward to this next chapter of flying.

I'll still be hanging around ... but for now I'll change my signature to "former owner".

Kindest Regards and Thanks -

Brian
