Grand Prairie, Texas Fly-In, (KGPM), Saturday, March 7, 2026

For March, how about we again try something different? Grand Prairie airport (KGPM) has a nice restaurant, the Radial Cafe, right on the airport at the terminal. Let's meet there on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 1100, so we can claim enough tables to sit together.

KGPM Grand Prairie sits under a 3000 ft shelf of the DFW class B airspace, and is tower controlled. If you approach from the south, a major landmark is the Joe Pool Lake, which has a highway bridge crossing the middle, oriented close to north-south. The pattern altitude is 1400, and you want to be below 3000' MSL before you reach the south end of the lake. The other caution is the close proximity to the Arlington airport SW of GPM. If one wishes to avoid the extra complexity of talking to two(2) towers, simply plan your arrival to avoid the Arlington class D ring. As I type this, GPM's advertised price for 100LL, self service, is only $4.73. Here's some more details - which should be verified from current published data of course:

GRAND PRAIRIE TOWER:128.55
GRAND PRAIRIE GROUND:121.15

For those driving, the address to program in your favorite Map App is: 3116 S Great SW Pkwy

It is just east of the 360 freeway, and north of Interstate 20 in Grand Prairie. Arkansas Lane, or Mayfield Road are your exits off of 360.
We're looking forward to seeing all our Texas friends in March!
