Axle ID??

Post by N419A »

I bought a 170 that came with a box of spare parts, of which was a bunch of axles, of corse no two were alike. All have been identified except one which i thought was a stock hollow aluminum axle. Except the part number stamped on the axle does not match any cessna numbers that I have found. Some numbers are rubbed but pretty sure these are them.

0541168 4977
2011T6KAE GA14

Any info is appreciated. Thanks, Paul K.

My IPC is at the hangar, but that first number looks like a Cessna number to me. At least the first group of digits (0541168) -- the second group (4977) doesn't look like it belongs.

Ya, the solid aluminum is 0541124-1 have one of those, and the heavey steel ski axle is 0741103. The 0541168 is fairly identifiable the 497 ok the last 7 not to sure on. The lower alpha numeric is probaly casting info. I think. I stumped the local cessna dealer or at least over the phone I'm gona drop it by tommarrow. But any info. is more than what I have. So, thank again.

Found out this axle is a 182 axle this axle or number was discontinued in '59'.
