Panel layout question
Chris,
I assume that is the airspeed indicator below the d.g. Is there not enough room behind the panel for the CDI in that space? I'm hoping to do a similar layout but wonder if I'll have enough room for a CDI in the lower center spot with the yoke all the way back.

Hey Gary,
Sorry, I can't answer your question. The only panel changes I made were the radios, RNAV, audio panel and intercomm (plus jacks.) While changed, the CDI remained in the same place. It's a faily long unit though (at least the King one is) so I am not sure if you'd have room with the "t-bar" full aft.
Hopefully someone else can answer your question here. What do the measurements look like on the CDI you have?

Re: Panel layout question
Before I did the refurb on '82A there was a custom panel installed that had the same layout which included a CDI at that center-low location. It was an old ARC Cessna unit that wasn't very deep. I never had any clearance problem, but you would have to evaluate the particular CDI you wanted to install. Not all have the same dimensions.n2582d wrote:Chris,
