Oil Cooler failure

I thank everyone who sent compliments on the oil temp article in the current "The 170 News". I hope it is helpful.

I rec'd an email from one of our participants who could not get it to post as a discussion thread, so here it is (and my first response). (Continental wanted to avoid such problems and designed this engine without oil coolers.)

The original engine did not have an oil cooler. Had someone installed one? What type. Do you have pictures? gahorn146ys@hotmail.com

Egads! Glad you got it down ok without any power. That happened to a friend of mine in a Cherokee but he had the luxury of 5000 feet of altitude to play with.
