For those of you like one of our directors who have been flying around with no indicator lamp in your stall warning..... the bulb/lamp is a G.E. 1816 and may be found at most automotive parts stores. Was the Stall Indicator Lamp standard issue for the 170 panels. I have a 56 Model B and do not have one? Where on the B Models was the light situated?

My '53 model had the lamp in the middle of the stall warning horn, mounted under the left side control yoke. On the later models they put a blanking plate there, and moved the warning horn to the back of the glove box and attached it with a bracket, but I think they eliminated the stall warning lamp. That is not gospel, but I have flown with a friend in his '55 model and do not recall seeing a lamp. I put in a different panel in mine and took the lamp out of the warning horn, moved the horn under dash, and put the indicator lamp directly in front of the left side pilots view. First night landing I did with the new panel scared the bejesus out of me when the light came on, ( forgot I had put it there on the rebuild of the panel). Jon
