Day's Maybe Numbered
I was warned about this before I actually did it. But was wondering if anyone else had experienced this phenomenon. I just bought a second aircraft Joining the you must be out of your mind club. I have just completed installing a stainless steal V brace, the last of the mods and finished the list of maintenance items on my Highly Modified 52 Cessna 170B. I ordered BAS inertial reel front harnesses and the BAS pull handles for my new to me 54 Cessna 195B. I was told by a friend that has four aircraft. That the first time you bring in a new item to the airport and its not for the now other aircraft. All Hell Breaks Loose and that these airplanes are worse than a Jealous Mistress or Menopausal Ex-Wife I brought the box to the hangar and put it in the cabinet that I have set aside for 195 parts. The 195 is also apart and behind the 170 right now so I don’t think the 170 has caught on yet. But I’m in the process of ordering a head liner and carpet kit from Airtech and I intend to go out and start working on the 195. So my day’s maybe numbered. Lance

Lance,
I never let my 170 and Cub get within ten feet of the other and certianly wouldn't operate one in front of the other. This was pretty tough to do when they were both at the same airport burt now my 170 is based at a different field and life is so much easier.

Re: Day's Maybe Numbered
I have a Stinson I fly and keep in front of the 52 170 restoration. I make a point to kiss the 170 boot cowl whenever I leave the hanger for this very reason.
Re: Day's Maybe Numbered
When I get the wings back on the Champ, it's going in the same hanger as the 172TD, on a lift. I think the Champs going on top. And if they don't get along, they both get baths every Saturday

I've been spending way more time with the Cessna than with my Chief...........that
explains why the dope on the Chief is fading......nothing to do with oxidizing........
it's pissed with me..

I always keep my planes in separate hangars so they don't know when I fly the other one.

Re: Day's Maybe Numbered
Hey Hilltop are you back in Texas? I been checking the obits thinking maybe you slipped out headed west and nobody said anything.......glad you're still around!!!!!!
......as you know, anytime someone adds the words "real nice" when explainning and airplaner it means 'money"
I thought long and hard and was for along time coming back to a c-195 or my #2 was a stearman and I have finally settled in on a stearman. It's a bit like a 170 in a way....they only made so many and I would like hang on to the history......we will see as time moves on.
W.
Bruce don't stop by this next summer to get his oil .....it may be gone in a stearman

Yep, back in Texas, I may fly "out west" but I'm not ready to "head west" just yet, too many more planes to fly first.
The Stearman is a great plane for about 30 minutes at a time. After that, I'm wanting out. The 195, on the other hand, is comfortable to fly all day long and 50 mph faster on the same gas and oil.
ADDS shows you guys are in for a honkin' storm up that way. A huge low in Minn./Canada and a front stretching from Hudson's Bay to Mexico. I can't remember one that big. Time to hunker down for the winter? It sure is nice in Texas.
