Hello. Could someone send me a dig foto of the way the fuel line come''s out under the front of a 1948 170 early ser number, with part # 0513017
(adapter-fuel line --Ser # 18001 to 18573. page 34, fig 17, C-170 parts book. are does anyony know were I can buy a adapter- for the fuel line - With a good photo I might be able to make one ??Any one know of a early 1948 cessna that some one is parting out? The part is right under and behind the gaslater on the belly were the fuel line comes out.. on this plane the fuel line does not go thur the firewall.. but thur right under the belly.. any help .. thanks...

Edgar,I've got a ragwing (s/n 18534) but don't have a digital camera or scanner. But there's not much there to see. The fuel line comes out of the belly of the airplane & attaches to the gascolator. Not much room aft of the gascolator for an "adapter".
You might take a look at a Cessna 120/140 if there's one near you--they use the same gascolator & probably a similar or maybe even identical line.
You might try all the usual salvage outfits for a ragwing fuel line.
I just looked in my 170 IPC.The fuel system in this book is illustrated on page 72:"figure 38-fuel and oil system (serial 18001-18573)". Item 38-35 is an "adapter",p/n 0550126,which screws into the aft (inlet) side of the gascolator,to which the fuel line attaches. Is this the part you're looking for? I think you could figure out what the (female) thread of the gascolator is,and the thread of the fuel line (I think it's a flare nut?),and probably locate a suitable adapter at your local hardware,plumbing,or hot-rod shop.

Thanks for the foto Doug,, looks like a upside down tear drop,, on my plane someone used two 90"deg, An fittings to go thru the lower boot cowling, and it did not look right,, also could restrict (slow down),, fuel flow...
