My no. 2 cylinder head temp is the hottest of the 6. On a summer day during a long climb the temp will reach 500F if I'm not careful. Even during cruise the temp stays around 400F with the other cylinders running between 300 to 375. No 2 EGT is warm but not the hottest. Baffeling is all in good shape. Is this typical of a C145 170A? Does the Model B use the more modern pressure cowl and does it experience hot oil and CHT's? I live in Montana and typically take off from a 6500 ft + DA strip. What do you folks think?

NOTE 1. Maximum permissible cylinder head, barrel and oil inlet temperatures, 525°F, 290°F, and 225°F,
respectively.
Maximum oil inlet temperature limit is 240°F, when using Spec. MHS-24 oil SAE No. 50 above 40°F
ambient and SAE No. 30 or 10W30 below 40°F ambient.
As you can see the max cyl temp is 525 and depending on the oil used oil temps can go to 240.
I don't think you have a problem.
