Susan,
Nice work! If you recall, I sent you a new picture for 1256D. It has not been changed. Do I need to send you the picture again?
Thanks for all your time and energy that you have put into the site.

Getting the bugs out...

Post by susang777 »

Those pesky bugs keep getting in there, despite my best efforts. Hours and hours... you'd think I'd get it right the first time! :?

Okay, thanks for the heads up on those changes. I did have a computer crash a few weeks ago, and lost some files in what seems like a very haphazard manner to me, although I'm sure it made sense to the computer at the time!

I looked very thoroughly again and I do not have another photo of N1256D, so please resend it. Sorry for the trouble.

I did have the new photo of N4401V in flight, although it is a bit fuzzy and high contrast/very white on the wings, so that is why I had kept the older one, but I have changed it now.

Thanks again to Kelly for sending those magnificent photos! For those of you who didn't get to see the calendar I brought to the convention, take a look at N2884C and you'll see what I mean. Wow...

Thanks again for sending the photos of your beautiful airplanes! Remember to send a *large* JPG file if you have it. I have DSL, so it's no problem to download.

P.S.--I do have an inflight photo out the side of a C170, and a C170 I took a photo of at the convention, that are still unidentified. If you would please take a look at these photos, and if you know who sent the inflight photo, or whose beautiful plane that is, I would really appreciate it!

2,872 Cessna 170s

Post by susang777 »

I looked in the new FAA aircraft registry to make sure I got some info correct, and to add a few more things, and saw a new feature. You can now find all 170s registered with the FAA, even internationally.
http://162.58.35.241/acdatabase/acmain.htm

There are 425 "170"s, 703 "170A"s, 1,743 "170B"s, and one Cessna/Karvonen 170B. Very unusual and unique, that one. Total number of 170s: 2,872.

I got very discouraged when I realized that less than 10% of the total are on the picture database, until I also realized that I don't need to reproduce a database that's already there.

So, I have removed all of the entries that don't have a photo from the main files, and put them into a text-only file. If you want to add info to the text-only file about the status of your airplane (such as rebuilding it, restoring it, looking for parts, or similar), here is where you can do that. Nothing long, just short status type of info, only about your airplane.

I hope that helps!
