wrecked 170

Yeah,Tom,it was wrecked back in Febuary. The student pilot owner's CFI (not someone I consider tailwheel-qualified,as he proved!) had borrowed the airplane and managed to put it on it's back in the middle of runway 09. He was in the process of groundlooping it in our usual gusty wintertime southeast crosswind & stood on the brakes. The real sad part is that there was no insurance on the airplane & the CFI is just walking away from the whole situation. Not my favorite person,to say the least!
The airplane is N543AR,a 1952 B model, but it has a later-style panel & the 1955-56 tailwheel steering linkage. It's tied down on the ramp at Jefferson County,if ya want to take a look at it. At first glance,it don't look so bad,but the closer you get the more apparent the damage is.
The owner's name is Jack Worman, his phone number is 360-681-4415.

Eric
