Wow, those two little radios look real nice.
You're making me regret my decision. Anyone want to buy a Garmin 250XL?

How do the Beckers work? I've heard good and bad.

Re: Radio Upgrade Suggestions
The Beckers work great. The Comm has a built in intercom which I was advised against using. I went with Sigtronics. PC Engineering was also highly reccomened. The set up works great for tight places I will most likely do the same in the 170.
Re: Radio Upgrade Suggestions
What reason was given for not using the intercom feature? Seems like it would be great to get rid of more stuff!

Re: Radio Upgrade Suggestions
I had read posts about the internal intercom not being user friendly. The seperate intercoms are small in size and weigh nothing. And are very reliable. I didnt want the hassles down the road with the internal.
Re: Radio Upgrade Suggestions
I can tell you that my number one concern when refurbishing my panel was to have good radios with a good intercom. After too many years of flying rental planes with poor radios, I wasn't about to put in something that I would later regret. I chose a Garmin stack including the GMA340 audio panel, SL30 nav/com, SL40 com, and GTX327 txpdr. Let me say that I could not be happier. The radios and intercom are clear and crisp as well as very user friendly. Great products.
