Garmin Transponder woes

On September 10, 2003 the FAA issued an Airworthiness Concern Sheet
(ACS) after receiving reports that certain TCAS 1, TAS, and TCAD
systems may not display the position of a GTX 330/330D transponder
equipped aircraft. The affected Garmin GTX 330 part numbers are 011-
00455-00 and 011-00455-20 and the GTX 330D part numbers are 011-00455-
10 and 011-00455-30. There is a 30 day response time line with comments
due by 10/20/2003. Full text of the ACS can be seen at:

Garmin has already addressed this concern in Service
