Accessory Housing styles

Post by Bruce Fenstermacher »

My engine (C-145) has the 3 hole oil sump and accessory case. I just aquired a 5 hole accessory case which is in better shape in the oil pump area and I'd like to use it with my 3 hole oil sump. Seems you might be able to do this buy just leaving the extra bolt holes empty in the accessory case. The parts manual is no help case it appears both the 3 hole and 5 hole assessory case have the same part number. The manual says part #53007A1 (which the 5 hole is) can be used on the C-145.

Answered my own question today. After carefully lookin at the 5 hole accessory case and my 3 hole sump it becomes apparent real quick that the holes for the screens don't line up and one of the "extra" holes in the case would cover the hole for the fine screen and let all the oil out.

Now I'm looking for a good 5 hole sump reasonably priced. Have a good 3 hole sump to trade?
