Flap Roller Larceny?
I just got a bill for replacement of the flap rollers on my '56 170. Ten hours labor @$50 and $274 for the kit (this after I pointed out to them before they ordered that even WagAero had them for $186. Should I swallow and write a check or call the police?
I'm not an expert on flap roller replacement...but 10 hours of labor? I would think that 5 hours would be plenty of time. I think some FBOs are set in their ways and use only one or two suppliers regardless of price...and pass it on to you. Maybe time for you to look for another shop...or else purchase the parts yourself for the job and then hand them over to the shop...and then sit off a few hundred feet and gaze in the hangar with field glasses to see just what they do with those 10 hours

Flap Roller
I just purchased the large area washers to comply with the service bulletin. I think they were about $2.75 each totaling about $20. My rollers were just fine. It took me about an hour to change both sides.

Flap Rollers
I just put the larger washers along with the next size larger bolts on my B. The bolts and washers were $28. I rempoved the rollers and cleaned them up with solvent and re-lubed them. Total time no more than two hours.

I have missplaced my copy of the service bulletin. If someone has it handy can you give me a quick rundown? Where have most of you purchased the kit from?
