Last of 80 Octane Avgas?

Post by Harold Holiman »

Yesterday I flew over to Moontown (3M5) [Huntsville, AL], to pickup something from my daughter. As I usually do, I intended to fill up with 80 octane while I was there. However, they informed me that they were out and their distributor can't get any more. The only other 80 I know of in this area is Sewanee (UOS) [Sewanee, TN], but they may also be out, or soon will be, as I think they get their 80 octane from the same distributor as Moontown. Just wondering what other parts of the country still have 80 octane avgas available?

80 octane is still available at N57 in SE PA but it is over $3/a gallon as it is trucked in from the west coast Bill K.

I just bought 80/87 at VGT (North Las Vegas, Clark County) and it was more expensive than 100LL. I wouldn't have bought it if I'd known that beforehand. Alcor TCP is only 1-cent per gallon and gets rid of the lead problem (IF one really exists. I've never had such a problem that others seem to be concerned about.)
