I tried finding Amarillo USAF font on-line.....who knew they charge you to download a font. Crazy! I am hoping our mx backshop guys will be able to duplicate the tracing I did today, if not it will be off to the sign shop to get it done. I saw some font on the side of the age equipment that looks really similar and hopefully will match up. It's amazing what a case of beer can get you on an Air Force Base!!!
I got mine for free, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't from a torrent. PM me your e-mail address and I'll send it to you.

Glad to see that it looks good (great, actually) and I haven't steered anyone off a cliff...yet. Seeing it on a computer screen versus on an actual airplane is a big difference. Is that vinyl or paint, Arash?
Even though they are small differences, the impact is huge. You did a great job.

Stencils may be available from Cessna. Here's what I found in the front of the 1975-76 C-172 parts manual. Not much help for the vertical fin -- smallest size is 6", but 20" is available for the wings.

I found this lettering stencil in a book called Aircraft Maintenance, by Brimm & Boggess, Pitman Publishing, copyright 1940, 1950, 1958, 1962. It's a great old book with lots of good information that I haven't seen elsewhere, though I suspect it's all in AC43.13(d). I learned how to install the top wing on a biplane, how to apply dope-proofing to wooden structures, that you can use explosive rivets in areas where you can't fit a bucking bar, and that P-K screws were originally made by the Parker-Kalon Company.

Wow, that response was almost as quick as my response to ferry Franks 172TD!
There's always plenty of guys wanting to build flying-time and that slow green-theeng is certainly good for that.
