I took a set out of an Apache about in the early 80s.... I took them out to the cabin & shot one off & it went about 100 feet in the air & got stuck in the top of a tree & lit the whole place up like daylight. good thing it was winter or the whole woods would have been on fire. don't remember what happened to the other two but I was done with that

I have them on my C170B , the 3 launch tubes and rack is still mounted (empty, I checked). They looked to be electronically fired, there's a screw cap with place to slip a wire or something into each tube, when I replaced the headliner I found a place where a fuse box or solenoid had been mounted . If I can figure out to post a picture I will. Thanks for the history lesson. OO

looking down on the tubes, you can see the old wiring connection. I had to hold my phone up inside to get this one but it came out ok.

That is some cool high tech brown stripped composite material being used there.
Nice to actually see one pictures of one of these installations from the inside. Thanks for posting them.
