I’m installing a GTR 225, a simple radio to replace my kx175 but once you’re into the panel, you’re into it. I like Garmin products but those HD sub D pins sure make for a good eye test. Seeing that I’m having so much of a good time, I’m thinking of replacing my ky97 which works perfectly but I’mthinking to do this just once. The reason for this ramble, it’s not easy to arrange things perfectly while keeping an eye on making future changes less painful. So definitely nice job on the panel pictured previously in this thread

The GTR is a nice unit. I was originally going to go with one but I couldn't pass up a great deal on the two SL40's I got. The original panel when I got the plane did not have much of a "harness". I must have cut a mile of old wiring out. What a mess it was. One thing I tried to do when I built my new harness was plan as much as possible for the future as Ialready new which instruments I wanted to add at a later time.

Jim, remember, its just money! And as they say, you can't hide money. As long as you stay in good with the secretary of the treasury (Maryanne) you'll be OK

You are almost there. Just get rid of that vacuum pump and go all electric.

Please advise the cost of the G5 and the cost of installation by the shop.

Contact an avionics shop to find out. Gulf Coast Avionics is around $2200 plus install and tax. (WAG=$3K)
