I am in central TX where arctic conditions almost never occur. The lowest temp I've ever experienced here is 17 degrees F.
I use an electric "milk house" heater, but I never place it below my aircraft where gasoline fumes may settle. I place it on a stand/box to the side of the aircraft and duct the hot air into/up thru the lower cowl via metal "accordion" type duct work (available at hardware stores.) Clothes dryer hose may also work but I found a larger capacity duct did a better job.
Placing the heater away from the aircraft, on a box (where it will also be above settled fumes), usually has it warmed up nicely after a few hours. My hangar is soon getting an infra-red fire detection system also (which may or may not tolerate the heater.)
