Thanks for all the information provided. I found (most of) the parts needed. However, one AME told me that V-braces in C170B's are ILLEGAL in both the US and Canada and that Transport Canada made one C170 owner remove the V-brace from his plane!
Spoke with Steve at F. Atlee Dodge, (907) 344-1755. They a have the "V" Brace. STC approval is pending with the FAA. Doubt if you find anyone who has one will be removing it, if you have prior blessing.

I guess he hasn't seen my V-brace with a field approval signed off by the FAA. There must be 100's of them up here.
