V-brace

Thanks for all the information provided. I found (most of) the parts needed. However, one AME told me that V-braces in C170B's are ILLEGAL in both the US and Canada
and that Transport Canada made one C170 owner remove the V-brace from his plane!
Any comments on this latest twist?

Spoke with Steve at F. Atlee Dodge, (907) 344-1755. They a have the "V" Brace. STC approval is pending with the FAA. Doubt if you find anyone who has one will be removing it, if you have prior blessing.

I guess he hasn't seen my V-brace with a field approval signed off by the FAA. There must be 100's of them up here.
Where in the heck are you supposed to put your left hand on long cross countries?
