Thanks guys. Yes Dave it's for real. The Harley I rented at Branson was a 2007 Fat Boy which is a soft tail and has a slightly smaller frame size. This is a 2008 Electa Glide Ultra Classic. Harley doesn't make them any bigger. And yes it's got all the bells and whistles.
I'm trying to justify a new Garmin 496 for it (and my planes) rather than the on board built-in GPS which is a $800 add on to the on board AM/FM/CD/CB/Intercom system. I figure what the heck might as well spend another $2400 while I'm at it.
I want a GPS so I can find a nice quaint restaurant when Teresa and I are in the outback of PA. One like Paul, Debra and I found in the Ozarks. You know those special out of the way treasures with the golden arches owned by the farmer McDonald somebody. Of course with the XM weather I'll know when I'm about to get wet and should stay at the restaurant. Of course the XM radio with be nice addition and can be piped through the sound system.

Actually, ... he who
LIVES with the most toys, wins! Don't get hurt on that big beautiful thing. (I'll bet it has it, but if it doesn't get ... and use... the flashing headlight function. Other drivers will NOT see you and pull right out in front of you unless you have flashing lights.... not just plain driving lights.)
(My buddies at work tell me that other drivers slow down and pull over for them because they are mistaken for police.)

Bikes are fun!
Bought a '02 Marauder last spring with a spun rod bearing. Rebuilt it with a new crank and top end, and we're off and running!
First trip was a hundred mile run to Newport R.I. and back.

That's my wife & I on the left.

Congratulations Bruce! If I were inclined to buy a Harley that's the one I would want! The Electra Glide is way more comfortable than what I just got off of! Debra and I just turned in our rented R1150R in Anchorage today after riding 1200 miles in some of the most beautiful country in the world. Far more BMW's than Harleys up here. I saw two BMW GS models with Vensualian* tags today. Tomorrow we board the train for Seward and then a week of Gluttony as we head for Vancouver. Had a great visit with Richard and Ina and hope to see the McIntoshes when we get to Vancouver.
*I know its misspelled but spell check can't figure it out either

NOPE!!!
MATTER OF FACT HE ONLY PUT GASOLINE IN IT ONE TIME AFTER HE FINISHED THE RESTORATION, TO CONFIRM TO THE "VINCENT CLUB" THAT IT WAS A REAL "RUNNING" RESTORATION NOT A HANGAR QUEEN. THEN HE WENT THROUGH QUITE A PROCEDURE TO PURGE THE TANK AND CARBS TO GET IT READY FOR DISPLAY IN THE NHRA MUSEUMS "BIKE WEEK" SHOW A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. SEEMS LIKE IT ALSO HAS A HISTORY OF BEING ENTERED IN SPEED CONTESTS AT THE BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS IN IT'S YOUTH.
